Dealing with the Misconceptions about the QNET brand and the Q-NET Fraud: Note the Difference

QNET is an international direct selling and Multi-Level Marketing brand with its headquarters in Hong Kong with a presence in more than 25 countries worldwide through subsidiaries, branch offices, agency partnerships, and franchisees. It has succeeded in putting a lot of people into business and spends a lot of resources to ensure that they are well-trained for the job.

However, the activities of this company in Africa, especially in Sub Saharan Africa including Ghana, is fraught with a lot of misconceptions because of brand misrepresentations.

A cursory search of the brand name on the internet in Ghana instantly introduces one to a barrage of negative stories about QNET which can easily cloud one’s judgment about the brand and prejudice him or her against any product or service proposals by the brand. That is one of the reasons why the company has embarked on educational and awareness campaigns to fight against scams and misrepresentation.

It must be noted that there is a world of difference between the QNET brand and the so-called Quest Net (Q-NET) which is at the center of all the fraudulent claims reported in the media.

QNET VCON MEDIA WEBINAR

With the curious mindset of the journalist in me, I harbored some of these misconceptions and misgivings about the QNET brand until I had an invitation from a friend to join the QNET VCON Media webinar organized by QNET.

It was an interactive info-sharing Webinar that introduced me to the QNET Regional General Manager, other QNET officials, and journalists who attended VCON in 2022 and 2023 in Malaysia. The key objective of the webinar was to continue engaging the media with credible information that will help address the misconceptions about the QNET brand in Ghana. QNET’s V-Convention (VCON) is an extraordinary gathering of QNET’s Independent Representatives (IR) from across the globe.

An opportunity was created for the Regional General Manager of QNET for Sub Saharan Africa, Biram Fall, to elaborate on the QNET brand and some of its products and services. Through the eyes of some seasoned Ghanaian journalists who had attended the annual gathering of Independent Representatives all over the world in Malaysia in 2022 and 2023, recounted their experience to demystify misconceptions about QNET’s true existence, and the impact of the media Junket to journalists in Ghana

I had my “Damascus experience” during that encounter where my eyes were opened to the stack difference between the real (QNET) and fake (Q-NET) business entities living side by side on the marketing scene as QNET and Q-NET, but with two different sets of priorities and management.

I learned that QNET, is one of Asia’s leading e-commerce-based direct-selling companies offering a wide range of health, wellness, and lifestyle products that enable people to live better lives.

QNET, not Q-NET

The company stated in 2022 that the QNET brand is completely different from the hyphenated Quest Net or Q-NET Investment Limited which is in the middle of all the fraudulent claims on the market.

“The name Quest Net does not refer to nor is meant to refer to QNET. They are effectively entities which are entirely separate and distinct and with no relationship or incorporation internationally,” the statement from QNET said.

The statement further maintained that the company has continually been cooperating with the relevant authorities in the country and placed Quest Net or Q-NET on notice that there was no relationship, connection, or nexus of any kind with the Ghana-registered local entity and QNET Limited.

I learned also that QNET has a presence in more than 25 countries around the world through subsidiaries, branch offices, agency partnerships, and franchisees and operates businesses in many countries, including Ghana, via Independent Representatives (IRs) who are properly trained and accredited individuals that undertake the business in compliance with best business ethics and practices.
