{"id":1661,"date":"2023-02-01T15:20:00","date_gmt":"2023-02-01T15:20:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/parliamentnews360.com\/?p=1661"},"modified":"2023-02-04T03:32:51","modified_gmt":"2023-02-04T03:32:51","slug":"mahama-ayariga-condemns-military-brutalities-in-bawku","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/parliamentnews360.com\/index.php\/mahama-ayariga-condemns-military-brutalities-in-bawku\/","title":{"rendered":"Mahama Ayariga Condemns Military Brutalities in Bawku"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>The Member of Parliament for the Bawku Central Constituency, Mahama Ayariga, has condemned the infliction of mortal casualties on innocent civilians by some members of the Ghana Armed Forces in Bawku and calls on the Government to immediately institute an investigation into the alleged dastardly act and bring the perpetrators to book.<\/strong><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the Member of Parliament, information reaching him indicates that there were some gun fires across the Bawku township the previous night. As part of their efforts to curtail the situation, the military chased anyone they saw.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the process, they shot at the people they were chasing who got mixed up with the civilians who also took to their heels upon realizing the approaching danger and killed six civilians.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reports of several unspeakable brutalities was that, a little boy who also run to hide behind some grasses was also shot and the grass caught fire and burnt him to death, making the number 7.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, the Assemblyman for Missiga Electoral Area was allegedly physically assaulted by the military personnel and sustained serious injuries.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a strongly worded statement to the media, the Member of Parliament for the area, Mahama Ayariga indicated that, \u201cThis is totally unacceptable and I will leave no stone unturned in my fight for redress for these victims.\u201d<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThere was similar killing of two men at patelmi because they allegedly broke curfew laws. This is preposterous.
