The Deputy Minority Leader, Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah, has fired back at the Deputy Majority leader for insinuating that the new Minority Leadership are not making use of their “thinking caps” for paying heed to a directive from the headquarters of their party not to approve of the President’s nominees for Ministerial appointments currently undergoing vetting.<\/strong>
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Minority group led by their new leader, Dr. Ato Baah Forsen, held a press conference on Monday, February 20, 2023, just before the Appointment Committee begun its vetting to serve notice that, they were not going to support the approval of the nominees in solidarity with the people who have called for a reduction in the number of Ministers.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a counter press conference against the Minority position, the Deputy Majority Leader, Alexander Afenyo Markin, questioned the rationale of the Minority to want to engage in the vetting process when they have already taken a position to disapprove of the nominees. Adding that, the new Minority Leadership was working on the dictates of the party leadership and therefore they are being controlled.

He said, “The new leadership they just announced is not the type of leadership with the ability to respect the constitution; that they have no thinking caps; they themselves would be acting on the dictates of the party headquarters.”
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a strongly worded statement delivered at a press conference in Parliament on Wednesday, February, 21, 2023, Mr. Armah Buah, hit back at the Deputy Majority Leader by indicating that “we will not descend into the gutters with the Hon. Afenyo Markin.”
He dared him to attempt to go through a ministerial vetting process and see if he would be able to survive it.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The reason is because we have a reputation to protect. I will ask the Hon. Afenyo Markin to look at the Minority leadership. These are people who have gone through vetting; served as Deputy Ministers and Ministers. I pray he is able to go through that process. So, we won’t descend into the gutters with him,” he observed.
