A delegation from the Pan-African Parliament (PAP), led by Hon. Rodney Cloete, Member of Parliament from Namibia, has paid a courtesy visit to the residence of the late former President of Ghana, H.E. Jerry John Rawlings, to commiserate with the family following the passing of the former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, which occurred on Thursday, October 23, 2025.

The delegation was accompanied by the Majority Chief Whip of the Parliament of Ghana and member of Ghana’s delegation to the Pan-African Parliament, Hon. Rockson Nelson Dafeamekpor. They delivered a special condolence message from the President of the Pan-African Parliament, Chief Fortune Charumbira, to the first daughter of the late President and former First Lady, Hon. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, who is also a Member of Parliament and a member of Ghana’s delegation to the PAP.
The visiting delegation included Hon. Hanna Belkhir (Morocco), Hon. Jonathan Daka (Zambia), Ms. Marina Da Trinidad (Committee Clerk), and Mr. Jeffrey Oganga (Head of Media and Communications).

In her response, Hon. Zanetor Rawlings expressed deep appreciation to the President and members of the Pan-African Parliament for their solidarity and support during this difficult time. She also extended apologies for her inability to attend the next PAP session due to the family’s bereavement and wished the delegation a safe return to their respective countries.

The visit highlighted the Pan-African Parliament’s spirit of unity, compassion, and shared humanity that continues to bind the continent’s representatives together beyond the parliamentary chamber.
