Prez Akofo-Addo and Ofori Atta Deserve Education Hall of Fame Honor for 2022 Budget

The Minister for Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, has observed that the names of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta, would be engraved in gold if Ghana is ever to build a Hall of fame for Education.

According to him, the policy measures put in place by the Finance Minister on behalf of the President Akufo-Addo led Government in the 2022 Budget is going to take Ghana to a new level where the country can compete with the rest of the world.

The Minister who is also the MP for Bosomtwe in the Ashanti region, made the observation in his contribution to the ongoing debate on the Floor of Parliament for the House to approve the Budget Statement and Economic Policy of the Government for the year ending 31st December, 2022.

He said this was the budget for the 21st century, that is why as an Education Minister, he couldn’t have been more excited because it contains the hopes and aspirations for the people; the aspirations for a better future for the country.

“Talk about five STEM Universities. Five new universities so that all those new regions without Universities will also claim a University. And when I hear some colleagues say that their constituents have told them never to vote for this budget, and when they vote for this budget they should stay in Accra.

“My response is that maybe you have not read the budget to your constituents. And if you have read it with them, they would rather tell you to stay in Accra till the budget is approved because our hope and our future is in this budget,” he observed.

Addressing the press at the sidelines of the Parliamentary debate, Dr. Adutwum observed that, “All that I want Ghanaians to know is that, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has a vision that is second to none in terms of education.

As I said on the Floor of Parliament, I heard some colleagues of mine talking about this budget belonging to the dustbin. But I believe this budget will belong to the National Education Hall of Fame when one day we build it.”

“The name Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo would be etched in gold in the National Education Hall of Fame the day that we build it. So would the name, Ken Ofori Atta, the Hon. Minister be etched in gold the day that we build our National Education Hall of Fame. Because this is laying a strong foundation for the Ghanaian economy to be competitive.”
