Midrand, South Africa – July 21, 2025 — The Pan-African Parliament (PAP) is set to open the 5th Ordinary Session of its Sixth Legislature at its headquarters in Midrand, South Africa, under the African Union’s 2025 theme: “Justice for Africans and People of African Descent through Reparations.”
The opening ceremony will be officiated by the President of the Pan-African Parliament, H.E. Chief Fortune Charumbira, and feature a keynote address by the Guest of Honour, H.E. Professor Miguel Cesar Domingos Bembe, Ambassador of Angola to Ethiopia and Chairperson of the AU Permanent Representatives Committee (PRC).
The two-week Session, which runs until 31 July 2025, brings together legislators from across the continent and international dignitaries to deliberate on pressing continental issues, particularly justice, equity, and reparative frameworks for historical injustices against African people.
